You're the Coolest

I love it when you find paper that goes just perfectly with your photos. The green in Basic Grey's new Lime Rickey goes great with the walls in my bedroom! This layout was done in like half an hour. I did barely anything to it. The birdie paper was just so cute and I wanted to use a lot of it. I didn't really feel I could cover it up without making it look super busy. What do you think? Not too bad for half an hour. I never am that speedy!

Three Princesses

I had struggled with this layout so much. I attempted doing 3 different things before settling on this. I had problems with the colour in my photos so I decided to go black and white. Crystal and I had cut out the princess shapes a long time ago and I really wanted to use them. I do admit that I cheated by just smushing them all in the corner, but it had to be a one-pager to fit in the album at the right spot. It turned out okay. I used Basic Grey Euphoria, which is slowly getting on the old side. I also used a Jenni Bowlin halloween journaling card which indicates the holiday a bit more.

Steve goes swimming

Yesterday we drove out to the Beaton river (thanks Crystal for the idea). There's actually a sign that says "NO DOGS ALLOWED" but we were the only people there so we went anyway. Steve is nearly 4 years old and he's never been swimming. Mack immediately ran in while Steve was a little timid. However, we think Mack scared himself and Steve ended up loving it! He cried and cried when we went to leave.

Data Collectors

For my "Designs for Teaching Math" class I had to create a Center's Project. I chose to do Data Analyis for grade 3. The object of the game is to head back to the boat with your partner. Along the way you get to collect data which you will later graph. Ryan says it sounds like a lot of fun except for the graphing part. It was pretty exciting to do. I got a lot of use out of my Cricut that's for sure. I'm really excited about this and hope to actually use it in a real classroom one day.

Scrap for food

This layout was done by a lady and posted on 2 peas. I think it's hilarious. I think it captures a serious dream of all scrapbookers; to spend your entire life scrapbooking and get paid for it. I'd love to be published. I'd love to wake up and spend my days in pjs cutting and gluing.
I just thought I'd post quick, I need to go finish my homework for tomorrow :)

3 Random Things...

Cosmo Cricket's blog always does "3 random things" which I quite like. I think from time to time I may just have to do the same. So here it is, my first 3 random things.
1) Jon and Kate Plus 8, my favorite tv family appears to be falling apart. I totally love these guys and wish them nothing but the best. I think it's so sad when you see things like this floating around the internet. How pathetic. I liked on the show premier when Kate said "go photograph another mom - oh look! there's one right over there" (in regards to the paparazzi). Yes, they brought some it on themselves, but I really feel in situations like this people need to be left alone to sort out their private issues by themselves.
2) My dad got into a car accident today. He is fine, which I am extremely relieved to hear. He was just turning off the highway onto our road in his brand new truck - just purchased today. He was signalling to turn off and the guy behind him didn't even notice so he just drove straight into him. He was going over 80 km an hour. I'm so happy my dad is okay, what a horrible thing to have your father phone you and say "I'm calling to tell you what happened to me today. I just came back from the hospital". I love him so much and it makes me realize how far away from home we are. I really feel an urge to go home. We are planning a trip for July, but that seems so far away....
3) Check out this guy's basement. Wow. Can he come do mine when my house is all put back together? I am very inspired by this and may attempt to do something similar on a scrapbook page. However, my drawing skills are no where near..... I'm thinking perhaps picking up some Cricut markers and letting the machine do the work?

Snow Much Fun - Complete!

Remember back in January when I posted these? I have finally put photos on one of them! My Christmas layout is still without photos, but I'm getting there.... I have this ziploc back with unfinished layouts in it. It's only like 4, so that isn't too bad. One of them I actually just need to print the photo. It's been at that stage since last summer. How silly of me.

I like this layout quite a bit for 3 reasons:
1) I used old paper
2) I used a transparency
3) My title is not in the upper left

It's good to try things a little differently from time to time. Now that my desk is clear I can begin working on my board game for school. It's going to be excellent - I'll post photos when done.
