Homework, blech!

Wow. I really feel this way today. Sometimes (before I go on Crystal - this is an AHCOTE rant, you probably shouldn't read - you may burst a brain blood vessel) I feel that these classes are totally fluff. Every here and there I get a really good valid point that I'm excited to encorporate into my teaching style. But for the most part it's just so..... ugh! Maybe when I get to the end of it I'll realise that it was all worthwhile or something. Until then, I'm just trudging along one assignment at a time. I'm going to head back to it, I just felt like a 5 minute complaining break.

Thank God for Undu

I can't tell you how many pieces I ripped off this layout. First I took off a photo because it was crooked. Then I took off basically the entire first page to add the orange piece behind. Then my journaling spot was crooked. The layout looks a lot less crinkly than I thought it would. I'm quite proud of the bones and heart - it's from a Rusty Pickle pirate chipboard pack. I bought the pack to scrapbook the pirate ship in West Ed Mall. Glad I used a bit more of that set finally. This layout turned out okay. I think I would have liked it more if it had more paper layers. I tried to be Crystal-esque with the little photos, but it didn't turn out as good as her. It's a cute layout though, and I like the softness of it.

Today I hung out with Nikole from work. It was a lot of fun. We played Wii Fit and Mario Kart. I am NOT good at Mario Kart. I thought I was better, but apparently not. I kept falling off the edge, smashing into walls, getting hit with shells. It wasn't a good scene.

Here's a photo of Mack I took today. I think he looks very cute!

Another one complete!

I went to June's today. Finished a layout! (Started another as well, I'll try and post that one tomorrow or Sunday) This is the last of my Christmas photos. I am liking the simple layouts lately, as well as the grid style. This one turned out okay I think. Not my best, but they can't all be. I really like the red piece my title is on - I traced an Inque Boutique chipboard piece of June's for that.

I really wish June would blog again because she did an excellent layout tonight and I wish she would share it with the world. Lots of glittery things - that's what Junie does best :)

I have slacked off on the homework a lot lately so I'm off to do some of that. I really would like to finish the other layout I was working on. It's of Mack's first bath. Also, I took the photo of this layout in my bathroom. There's a bit of a ledge half way up and I just propped the page up. Does it look better this way? Let me know.

3rd post of the day

I'm on a roll. Three posts one day. Wowza. I just created this layout and thought I would share. Thanks Crystal for the paper! Love how it turned out. I kind of feel that it's a bit bottom heavy, and may add something to that empty space on the top of the first page, but not sure yet. I usually am against the whole red and pink together thing, but it was in the paper so I went with it. I also usually never mix colour and black and white photos. But for some reason I did. I'm also happy that I used a bit of that really old KI Valentines paper (the white with the x's and o's). Made a big dent in my black prima swirls too. Anyhow, going to go read. Perhaps I'll get around to another page tomorrow.

For Mary

This came up on my itunes playlist while scrapbooking. Is it bad that I still know all the words? I had to search for a youtube video....... never saw the music video before. It almost ruins it. Me, you, the tercel and a cassette tape made by Shawn. Good times.

100th Post

Yay me! Post number 100! I thought that for this event I should clean up my act around here. New design. Do you guys like it? I may change it back because I think the photos look better against a black background...... we'll see how it goes anyway. I really wanted to add the "flair" buttons that I stole off facebook, but they had white boxes around them so that's where the change to white came from. I just thought I'd post quickly to say I'm still alive. I've been cleaning the house and now I really need to do some homework.... maybe a bit, and then I'll scrapbook. hehe. more later.

Finally Complete!

Thanks June and Brian for getting me the other half of our entertainment centre! Remember back in August when we bought it one side was smashed and Ikea was like "Too bad you spent $900, we're not replacing it". Well, we finally got a new one. I think that I am going to add in more shelves from the broken one perhaps. It's a total mess, I need to make everything look all pretty. And my god, I really need to increase the level of importance on my search for a wicker basket for the Wii stuff - what a disaster! Looking at this photo Ryan and I decided we need a new TV pronto - when he comes home we are going to pick one out. A nice big one that really fills the hole, this stupid thing looks pathetic. I also need to get some new drapes.... I have such a hard time deciding. But with nearly 200 DVD's and a giant tv in the main window, I should probably make it a little more private at night. Just asking for my window to be smashed and it all to be taken. Anyhow, I'm happy it is finally complete. And scroll down for a photo of my dopey puppy trying to make himself a bed in the bottom of the bookcase as I'm putting in the shelves. Silly boy!

First layout from photoshoot!

I finally got around to printing the pictures Jen took of us on Sunday. I know, it's been like 2 months since she took them. Anyhow, I was really inspired to do this layout right away. It was kind of a random mix of papers I chose. Winter and a new springish line from Basic Grey. I've used so much of Making Memories Falala line. I normally pick up a line and use it on maybe one page. I've used nearly all my paper and have very few embellishments left. I'm quite proud of myself and happy with how versatile that line was. I'm also happy that I finished a layout off. I've been really bad lately at starting, but not finishing. I have a stack of 5 or 6 nearly complete pages.

Back upstairs.

I'm back! Mack is nice and healthy and he and Steve can be together again. What a relief. Now the only problem is trying to get them from being so ridiculous! They play so crazy together. Mack is a huge slimeball thanks to Steve....

I'm finding today being back in my old routine that I was not getting enough sleep. I am extremely exhausted today. I had a nap for an hour, but I think I may need another.....

Lots of homework to do and such. I'm trying to work it all in here and there so it isnt' so overwhelming. I really want to get my butt back to scrapbooking as well. Since we got Mack I haven't been able to do much of that.

I really had intended to write a funny blog post with all sorts of pictures. But I'm too tired. Maybe later. At least you all know I'm still alive.
